How Do I Use a Ring Sizing Tool?

The correct ring size should slide onto the finger without much struggle, but usually catches on the knuckle and requires a gentle twist and tug to remove. The correct size may feel a little snug to some people, especially if you aren’t used to wearing a ring on that finger. Keep in mind that your finger size fluctuates based on the temperature, season, humidity, and even whether you’ve worked out that day. If you take a measurement on a hot day after a run, take another on a cool morning right after you wake up for a more complete idea of your ring size.

The Most Accurate Way to Size Your Finger

While the internet offers many variations on how to get your ring size–from plastic sizers to printable measuring tools–this real metal ring gauge is by far the most accurate ring sizing tool. It contains whole and half sizes, with the half sizes marked with a dash after the number. If you are in between sizes, we can make your ring in a quarter size.

Let us know if you need a sizer for a wider band, and we will send you a wider version. This will help you get the more accurate size, since a wider band fits more snugly than a thinner one. It’s best to approximate the width of the ring that you intend to wear on that finger with the size of the ring sizing gauge.

Why Take the Time to Use a Ring Sizing Tool?

Finding the correct size for your new ring can not only save you the headache of resizing in the near future, but it is also better for your ring! While resizing a ring is generally safe if the size difference is small, it’s not generally the most ideal route, especially with styles that contain pavé diamonds or gemstones. Smaller accent diamonds are more likely to fall out in the period after a resizing. We understand that sometimes this is unavoidable, so our two-year warranty covers not only one free resizing, but also the replacement of any accent diamonds. However, if you have the option of getting the correct size before you order, always take the time to do it! Starting with the right ring sizing tool will make it a breeze.
